This book is divided into chapters each chapter has sub-chapters. In the lower left corner of the window you will see a bar that now reads "HOW TO USE THIS". Clicking on this bar will bring up the table of contents. You can choose items from the table by double clicking them.
窶「 Because of the nature of building a table of contents in the DocMaker program it is very difficult to add chapters to the document and have to rebuild the contents each time. Therefore, the chapters may not follow a logical sequence all of the time. Sorry about this but until I find a better vehicle for the information and have the bravery to move it over it is the way it is... 窶「
Easy Fix Buttons
The first few screens have a set of interactive "easy" buttons. They take you to various general areas quickly. Think of them as a clickable table of contents. I don't admit to this being a super feature, just a little fun and interactivity put into the document.
Each window also has a return button. Sometimes you will return to the previous screen an other times you will be returned to the First Choices screen.
Scrolling
The scroll bar at the right works like any standard Mac window. Use it to see more on a page if applicable.
You may also move sequentially through chapters with the bottom scroll bar.
Find items (highly recommended)
Under the file menu is the find function (Command - F) and the Find again function (Command - G) Use these to locate any and all occurrences of the text you specify. This way if the symptom your computer has is in the text you should be able to search for it with the find function.
Resizing windows
You may resize a window to fit your monitor by dragging from the lower right.
Organization
The book is set up in chapters not in any particular order. Each chapter has sections pertaining to certain areas of the chapter it is in. The find function is highly recommended for locating items.
Printing
You may print a chapter or the entire document. The document is formatted for a laserprinter so printing to any type of printer should place page breaks in the correct spot. You may get more inconvenient page breaks with different printers but all of the information will be there.
